As part of Africa Unite 2006 in Ghana, Berklee College of Music partnered with the Rita Marley Foundation to offer 4 scholarships to Ghanaian musicians.Image

The program

The 2006 Berklee 5 week Summer Performance Program in which all classical instruments are available.Value: Each scholarship will cover all tuition, room and board (a value of US$5,925 per person). Airline return tickets will also be covered as the intention is for the scholarship holders to return home to Ghana.

For the 2006 award, we auditioned 18 applicants using Jazz Tones Jazz Night Club and Studio One in Aburi. The auditions were taped in studio.The four successful awardees were announced at the DuBois Centre where our Bob Marley Photo Exhibition was mounted in Ghan.

Eligibility

Applicants should be between 18 and 25 years of age and have demonstrated the drive, focus and potential to develop as a professional musician. She or he should also speak and read sufficient English to function in a classroom environment in the USA.
